Website design for Rock Hill businesses

A guide to how we build a website for a Rock Hill or York County business: what's included, how the work runs, what you'll need to send us, and what it costs.

Who these websites are for

Most of the people we build for are owner-run businesses with a good reputation and a website that isn't pulling its weight. Usually it's one of three situations:

No real website yet

Word of mouth and a Facebook page built the business. The trouble is, new customers now search your name before dialing, and there isn't much for them to find.

A site that shows its age

Nothing is broken, exactly. It just looks like the company you were ten years ago, and pinching and zooming on a phone gets old fast.

Stuck on a site builder

You've edited and edited, but the platform won't let you add what search engines need. When the platform is the limit, more editing won't fix it.

What every build includes

A design made for you
Built around your brand and the customers you want more of. It won't look like anyone else's site in York County.
One page per service
Anything customers search for by name gets a dedicated page with its own title. That's how Google connects a search like "gutter cleaning rock hill" to you.
Phone-first layout
A call button that's always in reach, text you can read without zooming, and pages that load quickly on a weak signal.
Proof where it counts
Your best Google reviews, quoted exactly and linked to the source, placed where people decide whether to call.
Leads that land
We send real test submissions before launch and confirm they arrive in the inbox you check every day.
Search groundwork
Titles, descriptions, structured data, a sitemap and Google Search Console, all set up at launch.

Why we code sites by hand

Most small-business sites run on a website builder or a WordPress theme with a stack of plugins. That works until an update breaks a page, the site slows to a crawl, or you discover the platform simply has no place to put something Google looks for.

We write the HTML and CSS ourselves and publish the site as fast static pages. In practice that means:

  • Speed. There's no database to query and no plugin stack to load, so pages show up fast on a phone.
  • Nothing to break. No plugins waiting on updates, and far less for anyone to attack.
  • Full control. Structured data, extra pages, tracking: whatever the site needs, we add it, with no platform limits in the way.

How a build runs, step by step

  1. Kickoff call. Roughly half an hour covering your services, your best customers, the towns you work and the jobs you want more of.
  2. Plan and write. We map the pages, then write them. You get the words to read before anything is designed around them.
  3. Design and build. We design and code the site, then set up analytics, the forms and the search basics.
  4. Your review. You go through the whole site and send changes. Three rounds are included.
  5. Launch. We connect your domain, submit the site to Google and test every form and button live.

What you'll need to send

  • Your logo, in whatever format you have it
  • Pictures of finished jobs, your crew, the shop or the vehicles (straight off your phone is fine)
  • Your list of services and the towns you serve
  • About thirty minutes for the kickoff call

That's all. The timelines below start once we have those.

A real example from our work

The breeder behind Tillery Labradoodles had earned five stars on Google and thousands of Facebook fans. None of that reached her website, and the puppy listings were pictures with words painted on, so search engines saw nothing.

Sixteen new pages later, her reputation is the first thing visitors see, every puppy is listed in searchable text with an apply button of its own, and calling her takes one tap. Read the full write-up.

Questions about websites

Is the site mine when it's finished?
Yes, completely. You pay for the build once and the site is your property. The separate monthly hosting fee is what keeps it online, backed up and secure.
Are these built on Wix, Squarespace or a WordPress theme?
No. We write the code. It keeps pages quick, leaves no plugins to break, and lets us add the technical details search engines read, which page builders often won't let you touch.
Do I have to write the content?
No. After a conversation about your business, we write every page in the words your customers use. You read and approve all of it before launch.
How many rounds of changes do I get?
Three, and most projects wrap up before using all of them. Should you need another round, it's $297.
What if I don't have good photos?
Tell us. We'll plan the design around what you have and suggest a few shots worth taking on your phone. Real photos of your work beat stock images almost every time.
